Chuck’s Bio

I started gunsmithing on my own rifles and pistols in the mid 80’s doing basic things like trigger jobs.  After doing a three year tour in the United States Army, I got out and used my GI Bill to go to the Colorado School of Trades for gunsmithing.  After a short period of time I was recruited to be a gunsmith for the U. S. Army Marksmanship Unit’s elite Custom Firearms Shop at Ft. Benning, Georgia.

After beginning work at the USAMU, I trained all over the world at the factories which manufacture the guns used by the Army Shooting Team. I spent 17 years at the USAMU as an International Section gunsmith supporting all Olympic-style athletes in rifle, pistol, and shotgun. While at the USAMU I was selected to be the gunsmith for many Army and USA Shooting matches around the world. Many commanders referred to me as the “Go-To Guy” because every time there was a major match they would call on me to support it.

I have built many rifles and pistols shot over the years that have won anything from a National Championship, set national records in small bore and long range, to winning an Olympic medal. The last two years my Toz free pistols have come in 1st and 2nd at the USA Nationals.

Some of the competitions that I have supported are:

  • USA Shooting Team Gunsmith - 2004 Olympics in Athens, Greece
  • USA Shooting Team Gunsmith - 1999 PanAm Games in Winnipeg, Canada
  • CISM ( Military Shooting Championship)Team Gunsmith –6 times
  • CISM ( Military World Games) - 2 times
  • USA Shooting National Championships – 17 times
